Herbi Recipe: Thai 'Beef' Salad with Nam Jim Dressing

Herbi Recipe: Thai 'Beef' Salad with Nam Jim Dressing

We've partnered again with Jane (@veganonthegc) to create this sweet, tangy and aromatic Thai 'Beef' Salad with Nam Jim Dressing using our best selling vegan steak!

To recreate this beauty, you will need:

  • 2  HerbiDoor steaks
  • 100g baby spinach
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • 5 sprigs Thai basil leaves
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 red capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup peanuts- toasted

For the Nam Jim Dressing:

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar
  • 1 Tbsp finely diced red chilli- seeds removed ( I use the long red- use birdseye for more🔥)
  • 1/4 brown onion, minced
  • 2 tsp 🌱 Fysh sauce
  • 1/4 long green chilli, sliced into rings with seeds removed
  • 3 Tbs fresh lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp oil

  • Heat steaks. Jane used a sandwich press, but you can microwave or heat in a frypan. Very thinly slice into strips.
  • In a small bowl, mix the Nam Jim ingredients together
  • Spread all the greens over a large platter. Top with capsicum & red onion. Lay the steak strips down the centre and spoon the dressing over the top. Garnish with peanuts, more herbs & the green chilli.

  • You can use 3 green onions finely sliced instead of brown onion for the dressing
  • Optional: cherry tomatoes
